Why is everything nineteen dollars?

Because everything is nineteen dollars. The agent, the address, the year. One price makes the signage easier.

Why nineteen and not twenty?

Twenty is a price. Nineteen is a bargain. The difference is one dollar and the whole marketing department.

What is on the shelf for $19?

Our address, on your state filing, for one year. It is a real address on a real filing. The shelf behind it is bare.

A process server came to your address with papers for me. Then what?

Then they stood in front of a shelf. What they did with the papers after that is not stocked here, and we were not there to see it.

Will I get an email, a call, anything?

Everything is nineteen dollars, and none of those are on the price list.

Is there a store I can walk into?

There is an address. There is a door at it. Opening hours were printed on a card, and the card is somewhere in the stockroom.

If something goes wrong, what does the refund come to?

Three months of fees, which at $19 a year is $4.75 if it goes wrong in the first ninety days. After that the fees paid in any three-month window are zero, since you paid for the year at the till, and the $4.75 stays in the till. Everything is nineteen dollars except the refund, which tops out at four seventy five.

Is there a cheaper one? A dearer one? One at the same price?

When the year is up, does the tag get a second year?

No. One year, one tag, one purchase. When it runs out the shelf is empty again, and the state is the first to notice.

What if I want to close my account?

Wait it out. It closes itself at the end of the year with no notice, and no notice is our best-selling feature.

Is there a person at the counter?

There is a counter. Staffing it is an item we do not carry.

Does the state let you sell this?

Your state's page quotes the statute, word for word, on what the state does about an agent that behaves like a bare shelf. We printed it. We did not read it.

Is this an actual company or a display?

The price is actual, the terms are actual, the statutes on the state pages are actual, and so is what they do to a company. The service is the display model.
